Takeover

Created in a week for the cyberpunk game jam 2025.

After walking around in the city, you sudden feel like you’re falling apart, so you visit your doctor/mechanic/whateverthehelltheyare to find out why, and they realize it’s a virus/corruption, so you enter your mind to fight back. Upon entering, you realize things are worse than they appeared, so you put up a barrier to protect yourself, locking behind some of your core memories. While the doctor tries to fix it, some of the corruption breaches the barrier, so you have to go fix it. Upon pushing back the corruption, they leave behind a core memory: Your competitive spirit, which unlocks a dash ability. A new breach occurs, you push back, which reveals a new core memory: Your sense of precision, which unlocks a ranged weapon of sorts. [...] Upon unlocking the final memory, your doctor is able to perform a hard reset, which will clear out the whole corruption, but also reset you back to a neutral, memoryless state, devoid of your previous memories.

Unfortunately we did run a bit out of time so right now only the first level is able to be played without the memory orb showing up to progress you to the next stage
